Hi, folks. I’m sure you must be SO tired of questions like this. I’ve scoured around for an answer without just posting here, but I’m really struggling to work this issue out. I am fairly new to Plex, however.
My issue is that I had some CDs with various MP3s. On my new NAS I created a Various Artists folder and into that I copied each CD’s set of tracks, each to its own older. I made sure the embedded tags on each file were correct (title is title, artist is artist, but Album Artist is Various Artists). I also made sure that each track had its correct album art.
For this library, in the Plex configuration, I clicked “Prefer local metadata” and, among other things, tried setting Album Art for the library to “Local files only.” I’ve re-scanned the library and refreshed the meta data, but each time, I get basically the same result: Though I can play these tracks through Plex, I can’t seem to get the embedded album art to appear in the Plex player. Instead, just one album art image appears for the whole folder of tracks.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to best organize these and whether it’s possible for the Plex player to show the album art I’ve assigned via MP3 tags? Thank you.
