Can Plex remember where I am in a movie when switching between devices?

I have multiple users and multiple devices on my Plex account. I have noticed the following behavior and I’m hoping there is a simple setting I need to change to fix it.

When watching a movie on one computer (all under the same user) and moving to another computer or phone Plex does not remember where I left off. However, if I go back to the original computer it remembers where I was. It seems to be separating each device, however, I don’t care what device I’m on I always want it to remember where I was or what I have watched by the user alone.

How can I make that happen?

It is crucial, that you dismiss the plex player in the web browser using the little x in the lower, right corner.

Because if you don’t do this, the web browser will keep reporting to the server that it is still playing the movie, just ‘paused’.
Always press ‘Stop’ (or in the case of the web player the x)
Never leave a client in ‘paused’ mode.

Then it will work.
