So I only starting using Plex less than a month ago. Im not 100% convinced on it because of this one bug.
My setup, Server is amd 1600x with 16gb ram.
User 1 is connected via lan with a gaming PC.
User 2 is on an Android device.
We each have out own home user account on the server.
Im watching show x on season 1 and worked fine for the first 2 days. then since then its always resumes on season 1 episode 8 even though Im now in season 2, which is really annoying.
User 2 is watching a different show Y is having the same issue where it keeps resuming at a different episode no matter where she left off.
Like I said only been using it less than a month so I may be doing something wrong or maybe missed an option some where.
Go through your devices with web browsers.
If you see the Plex web app open in there, verify that there is nowhere a “player bar” still showing at the bottom, with a tv show in perpetual “pause” mode.
Always use the Stop button to close the player. Don’t simply close the whole browser.
I often keep the plex server dashboard up on my file server I can monitor system resources so see how taxing it is. But dont play anything on it. Could this cause an issue?
also Im a Huge Multi Tab chrome user with often 5-10 tabs open on the Gaming PC and often leave Plex in a paused state, then when I resume watching I often have to reload the tab which is when the resets to the old episode. But shouldn’t Plex update after every completed episode to a already watched state?
