Can Plex use TV.com as an agent for indexing TV shows?

So, I have some episodes that are correctly named via the theRenamer via tv.com. However, Plex tries to match against theTVDB. Is there anyway to add TV.com as an agent that Plex will use? Then it would name my episodes correctly.

If not, how can I tell Plex to just use the name I have named them? It doesn’t have an episode recap anyway so none of the detailed information is filled in. Thanks for any help.

there is no tv.com agent. I am unaware if any third party dev made one in their spare time.

make a home videos library if you don’t care about metadata

My scanner should gather the title from the filename unlike default agent.

http://www.therenamer.com/index.html - File Renamer works with IMDb.com, TV.com, theTVDB.com, EPGUIDES.com and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) from WikiPedia.

It seems the tv.com doesn’t have an API so no agent will be easilly made: http://www.tv.com/tv-com-ideas/programmers-api/topic/100-1206762/msgs.html After checking the web site it seems to be owned by CBS interractve, so them facilitating metadata agents is unlikelly…

Thetvdb and themoviedb are the most reliable metadata sources and they allow to edit the information if missing. Why you would choose to rename using a source not supported by Plex… Plex should still load the eps using tvdb as source just fine, and you can rename the folder name to the tvdb serie title otherwise
