Plex TV Series Scanner & Agent missing some news shows - any way to request or add?

Where does the Plex TV Series agent / scanner pull its information from? We use Plex with IPTV streams and have it set to record a few programs each day that the Plex Series scanner simply cannot match. However, these shows are listed on both the TVDB and TheMovieDB (e.g. Andrea Mitchell Reports). So it seems that plex doesn’t pull shows from those sources.

I’ve tried to manually setting the TVDB as an agent but that doesn’t seem to be the preferred option and I’ve found that it just doesn’t behave and work as well as the Plex TV Series agent / scanner. So my preference would be to make a request or submit a show to get added to the Plex TV Series agent.

Is that possible?

What is the file naming you use for these files?

Edit: Neither the tvdb nor tmdb have episodes listed for the show.

Does the lack of episodes prevent it from even being able to match the show? Mostly I just want the thumbnail of the series in Plex to display a poster/artwork so it’s easy to see what show it is as the names aren’t always visible or a truncated. Don’t really care about the episode names/metadata so much

It might, but we would need someone from plex to verify that. I am not seeing it on watch.plex.tv
