Can someone please help me here, I have completely lost functionality with my NAS

Server Version#:1.26.2.5797
Player Version#:8.3

It has worked perfectly for a while now, but I recently moved, and when I hooked everything up to my router, the new MyCloudEX2Ultra I bought isn’t seen by plex. It detected it at first, but now every time I go on it’s “currently unavailable”. Both my Apple TV and drives are hardwired into the router, but it still shows it as “remote” and if I try to access it, it throws an error.

what do I do?

Where is your server? On the NAS or your mac?

the server is on the NAS the app is running from apple TV

what happens when you visit http://[Local Plex Media Server IP Address]:32400/web ?

everything is fine on the web app.

Please note that https://app.plex.tv/desktop/ and http://[Local Plex Media Server IP Address]:32400/web are different URLs, Both show your library?

Allow Fallback to Insecure Connections [never] may make the library appear to have vanished. you can either allow it completely (unadvised) or set it to ‘on same network…’

try that.

yes, it shows up just fine

how do i do that?

disregard. I was skimming the post last night and thought you said you couldn’t see the server itself from your apple tv. the fallback to insecure connection is only for the web client so wouldn’t affect the apple tv. but you can go to settings → network and change secure connections → preferred vs never as well (but most modern clients such as app.plex.tv or an updated app should support secure connections in general).

it sounds like your network share server side is dropping (it may reconnect by itself but wont get redetected until next library scan and if the 2 coincide the library will believe the content unavailable) → note if this doesn’t get resolved you’ll want to set ‘empty trash after every scan’ to no or unavailable content and its metadata will get wiped and readded.

return to your host server and determine if the network share (to your WD device) is mapped properly and not dropping. If you specify \\mysharename vs \\192.168.3.27 (ip to share) name resolution may be dropping or the connection in general isn’t stable. replace accordingly. rescan server and see if library contents come back and test if that was the issue over a period of 24-48hrs.

thank you. Now i can see it, but when I try to play anything it says “unable to play media”, but this is the same apple TV the same router I’ve been using for the last year with no problems. But now I can’t seem to play anything on anything flawlessly.

I have my router hooked up to my Comcast XFi because I don’t have another source for internet, and I’m wondering if that’s the problem, but I have everything in my house running through the router.

It looks like Plex is trying to run content remotely, but everything is connected to the same router on the same network. my NAS and my devices…so I’m not sure what to do without up ending my entire setup
