Can’t access library with new iOS App

Server Version#: 1.41.6.9685
Player Version#: 4.7 iOS on iPad and iPhone

I am unable to see my library with the the latest iOS apps on iPhone and iPad. My setup is all local on the same network with no remote access enabled.

First: I am not a Linux user so I’m taking a wild guess here:

Log out from your iOS app. Then login to https://app.plex.tv and go to “Settings>authorized devices.” There remove your iOS devices.

After this try to login with your iPhone again.

Looking at your account -

  1. I saw all 4 servers ( 3 were dead long ago. I removed them )
  2. I see you have a fresh , new, Docker container.
  3. It’s at LAN IP 172.18.0.3

Is this the server you can’t access?
If so, have you force terminated and restarted the player app?

@ChuckPa, Thank you for removing the old servers.

Yes, I’m using docker and that is the Plex server I’m trying to access. That 172 IP is the container IP and not the IP of the docker host 192.168.28.28. FWIW, this is set as the “Customer Server Access URL” in the network settings on the container/sever.

I just logged out of the app, force quit and logged back in and it’s still not showing any library.

I fixed this by using “host” on the docker network_mode.

@petroz

host networking is something I’ll be recommending a lot more in light of Plex’s new Remote Access changes.

What does “host” mean? I’ve tried everything I’ve come across but can’t get it working.

I’ve had plex running on TrueNAS for years but, as of these updates, none of our iOS devices now see any libraries. I got to the point of entirely deleting plex and all config from both the server and an iPad — with fresh reinstalls and only creating a single library for movies — no change. iPad says no libraries. In the past I’ve always set devices to be unencrypted on local as otherwise they didn’t connect. I’m utterly stumped and deflated.

What do I do to fix this!
Cheers

ALL:

“host” refers to the networking mode:

The documentation for it is here

“Host” is usually best for PMS (in my experience)

  1. The server is still walled off in its container
  2. The server exists as if it were natively installed on your computer (important)
    – Everything is on the same network .
  3. As far as apps are concerned, they don’t know PMS is in the container.

Hey, out of curiosity, what new remote access changes? Thanks!

Edit: assumed it wasn’t this one https://www.plex.tv/blog/important-2025-plex-updates/ but rather some other technical changes.

This one.

There are pms-internal changes to managing networks and IP addresses assigned to the server.
