Can’t find libraries

Hello all,

Running an UnRAID server with Plex media serve on it. Works like a charm and has done for weeks however recently broke my media up into a nice folder structure, migrated the data over and now my Plex cant pick anything up. I believe I to be something to do with metadata as I recently had to reinstall Sonarr and I may have missed a setting.

Any suggestions let me know and I’ll buy you a beer!

Thanks,

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1554

sounds more like a permissions issue – at least that’s what you should look into too…

Both Shares the data stored in are public and the issue still persists. Really struggling to get my head around it as Plex can see the data in the Directory.

see screenshot below :S

Ok… if you can see the folders when editing the library it means at least those are properly visible to Plex.

Did I read your OP correct that when scanning that library, it remains empty and doesn’t find these 2 shows?
If so… did you by chance make any changes to the files and how they’re named? One reason for Plex to ignore files can also be that they don’t match an expected naming schema. So TV episodes are only added to Plex if their file names have a ... sXXeYY segment (where XXrefers to the season and YY refers to the episode number).

Correct, When doing a scan library nothing is found… The Files haven’t been modified and I’ve tried using both files that worked previously and new files downloaded and renamed by Sonarr.

See screenshot of the media below.

Are you sure that’s the same folder?
The library edit dialog above shows you’re referring to /TV Shows/ while the files you posted last are showing up in /media/TV Shows/.

Yes so on my Microserver I have a volume map to the following share. Not sure if you’re familiar with unRAID but you can see this below.

In that case… let’s return to Plex and go to the edit library dialog.
If you add another folder and navigate to /TV Shows/Family Guy/Season 16… does Plex see files in that folder? (no need to add that actual folder… it’s just an easy test to see if Plex can see the files; if they’re visible in that dialog, it means they’re accessible to Plex – as an alternative to going through the files in a terminal using ls)

All Accessible…!

I’m starting to think it could be metadata related… as the files are there and reachable…

no…
In that case Plex would at least scan the files and create records inside your library.
Your issue appears to be during the scanning process.

Can you do me a favor:

  1. manually trigger a library scan for the library in question
  2. wait for it to complete
  3. wait a minute
  4. download the logs of your Plex Media Server (Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting > Download Logs)
  5. Upload the zip file here

Find attached

here we go…
the good news… your issue has nothing to do with permissions or metadata.
the bad news… your Plex Media Server’s database has for some reason been corrupted.

You can attempt to fix this by following the instructions in this support article:

Ahhh okay, I’ll give this a crack, if not! How do I go about starting a fresh.

Also I really appreciate your help with this one so if you have a PayPal etc let me know and I’ll drop you some money for beers

All sorted now, followed the guide and started a new DB fresh.

Thanks for your assistance dude! Much appreciated
