I have Plex running on a dedicated linux server. Following the instructions, I created the DVR on my PC but obviously it is saving locally to the C drive on the PC. I can copy the files over to the Plex server but how can I save the TV shows directly to the server’s libraries preferably running the DVR on the server since it is up 24/7?
Mount the Linux machine as a network file server and have the DVR write the output files across the network to the awaiting Linux machine.
It sounds like you have PMS running on both?
if so, remove the DVR from the PC, Add it to the Linux machine,
Have the Linux DVR function write to the media directories where you would otherwise copy them to.
very straight forward task.
You might run into issues with network performance however. Why don’t you create the DVR on the Plex server? Lots of Linux support. Or alternately you could create a script that wakes up periodically and moves files for you automatically.
