I’m trying to simplify things and use an old laptop for my Linux based Plex server. (11th gen i3 seems like it should work fine, yes?) One issue I’m having is drive space. I have a Yottamaster USB external drive case that will hold my HDDs, but it doesn’t come back on automatically after a power failure.
Can I specify a backup location for the DVR to save files if it’s trying to record and the designated drive is not mounted or full? Is there a better solution?
Second slightly related question - My DVR drive is getting full. If I don’t want to delete anything, can I just move recorded shows to another drive and add it to my library as tv shows? Will the DVR figure out it’s there and not start re-recording everything?
