Can the Plex db be moved from one server device to another?

I currently have a Plex server installed and configured with libraries and playlists on my desktop.
After installing Plex on my laptop, I want to move this Plex configuration, playlists, etc. to my laptop without having to recreate things.
Is this doable?

here you go…

Keep in mind this is about migrating the setup – not cloning it.
If you want to duplicate your original Plex Media Server while keeping the original, you’ll need to dig a bit in your Registry before starting the new server (otherwise both will show up with the same machine identifier and confuse your players).

Thanks very much.

Thanks for this. I’m about to retire a 10 year old Pentium (G3220) and replace it with a little bit better Ryzen 5 3400G machine. I’ve got my PMS (up to date) and all my media library info all clean and nice (on source) and just want to move the whole thing to the new box (destination). I have no source media physically on the old PC. ALL source media is stored on USB drives (currently attached to source as “D” and “I” drives). So now I need to get my game plan on how best to go about this. If anyone has ANY additional pointers not covered in the support document above, please do share. I’m hoping I can keep my pain to a minimum! OpSystem Info Windows 8.1 on source, Windows 10 on destination.
