Transferring Plex Media Server from one PC to another

Apologies in Advance as I am new to Plex but also useless in forums.

Cannot find any reference to how to go about transferring PMS from one PC to another to retain all the settings and info. Any answers, help or pointers will be appreciated. lastly, I am disappointed that short of this forum there is no recourse to “proper” support unless that is something included with the premium service? I haven’t seen anything to say that it is?

Hi Alexandre,

thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Its pretty much as I thought. Quite “manual”. Maybe it would be best to “migrate” settings from one install to the other via different accounts? In other words, install PMS on new PC and copy and overwrite the data (PMS system) files before transferring the data HDDs to new PC?

Not that simple… there are registry entries to consider.
