I’ve looked thru the settings and didn’t see any way to change that, so I figured I would ask. Is there a way to set the timer for that feature, and if so where is it?
On my Roku, once the Skip Credits button disappears, I can get it back by pressing the down arrow key. Check and see if your client has a similar feature.
On my Sony remote if I just hit the button in the middle of the arrow keys it comes back.
The problem is sometimes the remote isn’t close by. And she is technology-challenged at times.

Some apps have the option to disable it as described here, but not the desktop app you entered the version number for.
I hardly use the desktop app…only when I’m adding stuff to the library.
Otherwise, I watch it on the PLEX app for the Sony or from the Amazon 4K FireTV stick.
And I don’t necessarily want to disable it…but just extend the time I have to get the remote in my hand.
