plex connect is still running on the mac just fine... does not get any requests when the atv has DNS set to auto.
Ok leave it on auto for now lets get plexconnect working first. So you have the new master renamed to PlexConnect right. You have all three files in the folder I said earlier? 127.0.0.1 on your mini produces? Also still manually point your dns to your mini on your atv. Can you do a screen shot of plexconnect.py
Correct, brand new master installed and the new .pem I created tonight is sitting in the assets/certificates/ folder.
127.0.0.1 produces:
Error code 403.
Message: Not Serving Client 127.0.0.1.
Error code explanation: 403 = Request forbidden -- authorization will not help.
Im using all three files created in the cert folder idk if that helps or not. Screen shot your plexconnect.py in your prev post or just copy n paste the whole thing.
I've had all three files in there as well, doesn't make a difference for me.
Here's plexconnect.py running.
Weird I see a few differences but not much. Sould say intercept request not forward hmmm. I assume your not messing with any files in the master besides pasting your certs in the correct folder?
Correct, I haven't done anything at all to the plexconnect files.
You absolutely need static ip’s? I would change your router to dhcp and see if it works. If it does then something needs to be changed in your plexconnect.py or plexgdm.py
I thought a static IP for PMS was a requirement, so you could set the DNS on the ATV and not have to worry about it changing?
Only for the dns. Is your router dhcp?
yes, router has DHCP enabled
Ok that helps…ya set your ip to dhcp on the atv and the dns to point to your mini maybe your router cannot see that far of a range in the .200’s
done, it has been setup like this from the beginning -- auto IP, manual DNS
So it works? If no reset your mini and restart plexconnect.
Does not work, same screen with Computers/Settings icon only.
Question for you -- from terminal, are you able to ping and traceroute to your ATV? On mine I cannot get a response, just times out.
Yes I can, what is your ip now for your atv, even on wifi?
IP for ATV is still set to 192.168.2.100 (grabs this IP automatically)
But like I said.. cannot ping or traceroute to ATV.
Philips-Mac-mini:plexconnect psmith$ ping 192.168.2.100
PING 192.168.2.100 (192.168.2.100): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Philips-Mac-mini:plexconnect psmith$ traceroute 192.168.2.100
traceroute to 192.168.2.100 (192.168.2.100), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

Network issue. Use wifi on your atv since it works for basic stuff unplug power from atv, Reset router manage router look at dhcp table, delete atv from table, reset router again then plugin your atv reset mini. Are you using a firewall on your mini? If yes turn it off. You dont have another device possibly static on .100 i assume
It's working now.
Wow, I am so upset with myself right now for not resetting the router as a precautionary step at the beginning. 99% of all problems are solved by power-cycling your router! I know this!!
:(
THANK YOU, wahlman.j, for your patience and helpfulness tonight.
Glad I could help enjoy
check out my signature post 2 im sure you will like it
seems like your static ip got “stuck” on your router.
