Can watch live TV, but can't record (Shield TV)

I have PMS running on the 2017 Nvidia Shield, mounted to a 1tb network share. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD tuner in the Shield, and live TV works well: in Plex on the Shield, to my browser or the Plex app on my phone, and on the built-in Shield LiveTV app, but Plex won’t record anything. Over on the share, I can see it creates the folder for the show, the sub-folder for the share, a .grab folder for the initial grab, and a named .ts file for the episode in the season sub-folder, but the .grab and .ts files are 0 bytes and never get any bigger. I’m seeing lots of transcoder errors in the console along these lines:

I don’t have a solution, but I may be able to add some context. I can see these errors as well, but the tv show in question recorded successfully. It’s possible these errors are a red herring.
