I posted a question on the forum “Windows Store app (for Windows and Windows Mobile)” twelve weeks ago.
forums.plex.tv/discussion/269558/store-track-progress-in-audiobooks#latest
To date, Plex have not responded to this question, and I notice that many questions are going unanswered.
In addition, bug fixes are not forthcoming.
Can you confirm that you have ceased development of the Plex client for Windows 10 mobile, or at least give an indication of what the current situation is?
Five days on from the original post, and no response whatsoever from any Plex employee.
One assumes, then, that you don’t care about the users of Windows, whether phone, desktop, or tablet/surface.
The silence is deafening.
I’ve spoken with the UWP dev in the past and they’re usually really helpful, but it has been a while since any new builds have been pushed now you mention it.
a Plex employee responded in another thread that they’re still working on the app but the lack of updates and responses is not looking great.

That response, from @BigWheel was a month ago. Since then, there have been no software updates, and Plex staff aren’t answering questions on the Windows forum.

I agree, the UWP developer was very helpful. However, he hasn’t been seen on the forum for months. I think the last software update was at the beginning of May…
I also asked this question to Plex on Twitter, and again got no response. So it certainly doesn’t look good.
Looks like they’re mirroring Microsoft’s stance on WP.
Communications blackout.

Perhaps @elan can shed some light on the future of the UWP app, although he seems quite busy on another thread.
I really don’t understand why customers are ignored when they ask simple questions. I’d love to know if Plex are intending to allocate staff to support the client software in the various forums, and if there is a roadmap to fix the bugs in the UWP app.
How long are we expected to wait until the long-standing bugs in this app (and, from what I’m seeing, the other client apps on other platforms) are tackled?
I doubt they will talk about it… But I have some ideas. I think this has to do with moving the uwp to Xbox and what that entails. Hoping it also means other improvements but that’s my feeling.
Edit: in my wild dreams I see plex partnering with Microsoft to offer DVr record support on the windows client like they do on the shield
But that’s just wild dreams
@mcrommert you are a lot more optimistic than me. I’m not convinced there are any developers at Plex capable of working on the UWP app. I suspect the one they had has left…

They have definitely said they are working on the next version of the Xbox app and that has to be uwp… Apps often go into hibernation as they make major changes. I remember that ios (probably their most used app and they are very Apple centric) had not been updated in months and month and months before its major overhaul
Not apologizing for them just saying this isn’t all that strange though it is frustrating
