Hi, I have seen a few threads regarding this problem, and cannot seem to find an answer. In my house I have two younger children. They are managed users to my Plex Pass main account and they are locked down to profiles with Younger Kid or Older Kid specified. Between that and locking them down to certain libraries there is no issue with my own content. However, if I choose to enable Movies & TV, they get full unfettered access to everything including some very child-inappropriate things.
In threads like Movies & TV - parental-like controls needed and others, I keep seeing mentions of https://support.plex.tv/articles/parental-controls/ as the place to find the answer.
However this is not an answer because though that article says these profiles should restrict what is shown in online media sources it does not. It simply does not work. Found out the hard way when an 8 yr old started watching an R rated movie. No matter what you set the restriction to for the managed user, it shows everything. The only solution I can find is to disable Movies & TV entirely, or disable for managed users. As everyone knows, unpinning is not a solution.
This is frustrating because I have other managed users in my house who are age appropriate and it would be cool to offer this content to the other adults here. And frankly, some of the kids shows would be nice to offer up to the kids. It just sucks that the user account restriction does not work.
I need to understand if the account restriction of Younger Kid / Older Kid / Teen should affect what is shown for Movies & TV. If it should, then we have a potential bug and I would like to make sure someone has eyes on it. If it should not, then I want to request new feature so that it does. Can anyone help?
