Video on Demand Parental controls

Hey guys,
Just looking for some advice around parental controls for the new plex video on-demand service. I have the plex pass, my daughter has a managed account as she is only 8. In the restricted section I have the following options

Restriction profile : None (Which lets me control the ratings myself)
Movies : Allow only G, PG, “Allowed” (this is a custom tag for content above the rating that we allow)
TV Shows : Allow only G, TV-PG, “Allowed” (this is a custom tag for content above the rating that we allow)

Now this works fine for our own content and does limit what she can see to those ratings or our custom tag. But when I enable the “Movies & TV on plex” then on her account she is getting access to mature content. e.g. at the very top in the most popular section, the 3rd most popular is “Killer Legends” which is TV-MA TV show or the 5th most popular is “Demon Seed” which is an R rated movie.

I thought this might be due to my custom restrictions but even when set to the predefined option of “Younger Kid” which should only allow G and TV-G her account is still able to access TV-MA and R rated movies from the on-demand.

Anyone any ideas? I have followed https://support.plex.tv/articles/parental-controls/?_ga=2.52245289.1672339025.1581353535-806185545.1542382438 which I might add does state and I quote “When selecting None users with an active Plex Pass subscription can set advanced restrictions based on custom labels and content ratings”

Its a shame as there is content on there I think she would enjoy but I can’t enable this given the access to mature content.

You need to set a restriction profile, in order for the On Demand videos to get filtered.
There is still a bug which shows on shared clients, when you ‘Switch User’ from your admin account to that of the kid. It will sometimes retain visibility of a few inappropriate movies, due to a caching issue.
This is still under investigation.

Thanks for the reply. When you say I need to set a restriction profile are you say I have to use one of the predefined and I can not use the advanced restrctions by setting the profile to none and setting the movie and TV restrictions directly?

The caching issue is an interesting one. I will test this out on different machine which has not been logged in as the admin to see if the restrictions are being imposed.

So I set the restriction profile to “Younger Kid” even though I feel this gives us less control, went to my daughters TV which has never had my profile loaded on it and still the mature content is showing and will play under her account.

Guess I will just disable the feature until the kinks have been worked out. Although very strange bug from plex that would have restriction profiles and then give access to R rated content for someone defined as a Young kid. Plex have always been a family friendly company so would expect this will probably be patched very quickly.
