so I moved some stuff around, and a bunch of files ended up in slightly different locations than they were before. as a result, Plex didn’t pick up a lot of the external SRT subtitle files when it scanned. I know how to perform the Plex dance for an individual show to get them back, but this is almost all of them. I tried doing the Plex dance steps with the entire library at once, but it did not work.
okay, like I said, I did the Plex dance on my entire server and it didn’t work. is there a different set of steps you have to follow when you’re doing the entire server?
the dance still works when I do it to individual shows.
that’s literally part of performing the Plex dance. if I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t be saying that I had performed the Plex dance.
Ok, all works for me
There is no need to dance, if you want it to pick up external subtitles. Just Refresh Metadata. This can be done for a whole library at once.
P.S.: the equivalent of the Plex dance on a whole server would be to remove all libraries in Plex, optimize the database, clean bundles, then recreate the libraries.
