I’ve just recently begun to put some of my music on Plex, and the lyrics feature is really cool. However, some of the lyrics are just blatantly wrong. According to Plex, these lyrics are coming from the LyricFind service. I can’t tell where they source their lyrics from, though they claim to come from publishers. If they were coming from the publisher, they wouldn’t be blatantly wrong.
So, does anyone know how you can go about correcting incorrect lyrics?
You could try to inform Lyricfind about it. But they would probably not take your word for it, but just stick to what they think is the ‘official’ version.
So, place your own version of the lyrics beside the music file:
It doesn’t bother me enough to fix it for myself. I was looking more for some sort of public service opportunity to stem the spread of things like “thirty thieves and the thunder chief” or “wrapped up like a douche” (not real examples).
Real example: The song “Painless” by Fozzy has a line, “Caught in your web, I’m paralyzed.” LyricFind reports that line as, “Cutting you with my pair of lives.” I can’t even figure out what someone once thought that meant. What does it mean to have a pair of lives? And if you did, how would you cut someone with them? Not to mention how that wouldn’t fit into the song at all.
