Lyricfind stopped working some time ago, but I was waiting to be fixed by Plex soon. I was wrong. Today, I read that some people fixed that problem rebuilding their library. For rebuilding, I understood creating a new library, am I wrong? So, do I really need to create a new library to fix this problem? I’ve spent literally months tagging properly my library (since I had a lot of music not properly tagged) and I don’t want to waste more time creating a new one. So, my question is, there is a way to fix this problem without creating a new library? I’m using a Mac mini as a Plex Server and MBP [Plex Media Player] & Apple TV as Plex Clients.
Yesterday, I refreshed my Premium Music Library and now, I can’t even see the lyrics icon. What’s wrong with Plex and LyricFind? Where can I find the proper log to try to figure out what’s going on? Any help?
OK, I’m really upset. For test purposes, I created a new folder and library, I added two albums, and I restarted my Mac mini. Now, I can see the lyrics working in my new library using Plex Web, but I can’t using my old one (and I spent months building that library). Plus, I can’t see the lyrics using Plex in my Apple TV and Plex Media Player in my MBP (not even in the new library). Any idea? I really don’t want to create a new Premium Music Library and spend like one month and tons of hours tagging after paying for Plex Pass.
When you say you spent tons of hours tagging, did you do the tagging in Plex, or did you use an id3 editor to edit the tags directly in the music files? If you edited the music files, then your work will be automatically picked up in the new library, as long as you configure Plex to prefer embedded tags.
I suppose it’s possible that your database got damaged somehow, which caused Lyricfind to quit working. I have no idea if that’s reparable. I suspect not, but maybe a Ninja will jump in.
Unfortunately, I don’t have all my music files tagged properly, because most of my old music didn’t have any tag at all. So, I tagged some hundred albums using MusicBrainz Picard, and I searched and downloaded tons of pics to fix missing posters, but it was, basically, a manual process. Plus, I had to create new folders to follow Plex file naming convention.
So, I really wasted a lot of time. In fact, I had to delete some music, because the whole process was so annoying. Sometimes, you didn’t even find anything at lastfm or discogs. So, at the end of the day, the easiest way to organise my Music library was to delete some files and fix them in Plex.
Now I know there are other tag editors that are much better than MusicBrainz Picard. So, maybe, it would be easier and completely automatic, but I really have a large library (1085 artists & 2264 albums) and the idea to create a new one and check everything is OK is so annoying
It seems that you must not check the ‘Use embedded tags’ option in order to use LyricFind. Is this some kind of bug? It doesn’t make any sense.

I use “Use embedded tags” and Lyricfind with no issues. But my library has been stable for a few months.
EDIT: I just quickly created a new library, pointing to one artist to keep it small. ‘Use embedded tags’ and Lyricfind both worked.
If there’s a problem, your server log files will probably be helpful for a Ninja to help debug. You might want to take a look at this page for help gathering logs.
