All lyrics have disappeared

Server Version#: 1.22.2.4282 (Linux)
Player Version#: 1.30.1.2115-81e1fc3f (but affects all players)

About a week ago, I found a couple more albums to add to my Plex music library and they synced up perfectly fine, other than the lyrics. They were both pretty popular albums, and would’ve had lyrics on at least some of them (based on Googling and the same songs from other albums), but the lyrics were just not showing up. I shrugged it off; perhaps PMS hadn’t synced them properly yet.

Fast forward to today and now I have no lyrics on any of my albums - full stop. It’s all just disappeared. I’ve made sure LyricFind is enabled in the sources, done a full refresh of the metadata in my library but nothing seems to get even a small sign that lyrics are there.

Maybe the Linux PMS is bugged? Lyrics have always been a little shaky for me but this is just annoying.

Cheers for the help; let me know if you need logs etc. so I can grab them from the server.

Same for me.

It should be fixed in version 1.23 which should be out next week.

Ok, cheers.

Is 1.23 available? I don’t find a download for anything after 1.22.3.4392, but see that 1.23 is marked as the solution.

I tried the latest that I could find, v.1.22.3.4392, but don’t find any lyrics after small testing with a refresh.

It is not available yet. I thought it would be this week but turns out there are some things unrelated to this that need to get worked out in that build. Sorry i forgot to update this forum topic. Hoping next week if all goes well

No problem. Thanks for the reply.

For what’s worth, local LRC lyric files DO display.

I just update to Version 1.23.0.4438 and I still have the same issue. Is it suppose to be fixed in this version?

Did you refresh metadata? Either on library level or individual albums

Thank you. It is working now. I had done this in the previews version and I forgot to try this again in the new version.

Are the lyrics downloaded and saved or are they requested each time a song is played? If saved, what location on a Linux Plex Server? Tnx!

I just check for updates on my plex server… I’m running Version 1.22.3.4392 and check for updates says I’m “Up to date”. I’m running on a QNAP server. When will the update to 1.23 be available for that product? I’m !@#$ed that Lyricfind stopped working… and yes I’ve already tried refreshing metadata…

If you switch to the beta channel of Plex, which you should be able to do as a Plex Pass subscriber, you can get the latest update early.

It’s a bit of a pain on Linux systems because there isn’t a dedicated repo for the beta channel and you have to do it manually, but if you’re able to automatically update through Plex with QNAP servers, you should be all good.

Fixed by updating PMS to 1.23. Make sure you refresh the metadata of the libraries affected.

If you’re a Plex Pass subscriber, you can get this update early by going through the Beta channel. Not sure when this update will be available on Public.

I’m already on the Beta channel as a Plex Pass subscriber… for some reason Plex wasn’t seeing an update as being available. I manually downloaded and installed 1.23.0.4459 - still no lyrics… and I rebooted the QNAP system… STILL no lyrics… :frowning:

Make sure you’ve refreshed the metadata of your library.

@daorriss an you provide logs from your server after refreshing metadata for your music library?

or just refresh one album if you have a huge library and see if that one album gets them.

I will say, refreshing my metadata of my music library was a little annoying.

Either it told me it was finished and clearly wasn’t or it would just stop and not refresh everything. Might be a suggestion there; make the refreshing status more clear.

Cheers for the quick responses though - much appreciated.

This happened to me. I’m on windows server version 1.22.3.4392 (latest), I’m Plex Pass, and refreshed all metadata & analyze didn’t fix it. Players I’ve tried on are the web player, plexamp (android/windows) and plex android app. Hopefully 1.23 fixes it!
