This begs the question: What is the display language specified in the player? Chinese or Japanese ?
Chinese。。。
When I use Microsoft Yahei as the default font, the display is correct because Chinese has the highest priority.
But this may be a problem for Japanese users
So now the solution is. When the subtitles are in Chinese,
you need to specify the font Noto Sans CJK SC Regular(it’s in the NotoSansCJK-Regular.ttc)
PS: In fact, there are two ways of writing Chinese, Simplified Chinese (SC) and Traditional Chinese(TC). Most applications support the two type (PLEX does not make this distinction). In Notosans, Noto Sans CJK TC Regular is also Chinese, but only 20 Million people use TC, and SC has more than 1 billion user. So, pls set SC to display Chinese by default.
Thanks for the continued assist. We will see what engineering finds at this point.
You can use these words to test,
门 内 复 关

If it looks like on the left, it is a Chinese font, if it is on the right, it is a Japanese font
thanks. added to the report.
All we can do now is wait.
It looks like Google has updated the Noto fonts since we started shipping them; we’ll update to the latest version in an upcoming PMS release.
In order to address the unified-character problem, could you provide a sample file (SRT or ASS) that demonstrates the issue?
