Can you access the server itself from a browser on the same machine? Is your VPN configured on the router or your Mac?

Thank you for replying! I can access it yes, and on the mac itself. But I currently have nordvpn disabled to rule that out.

I tried some other things. I’ve replaced the cables, reset the modem, enabled upnp (because why not). No luck. Weirdly, I can access the server in the smart tv browser if I go to the ip address. This lets me think that they can’t find each other, so it might be an issue with advertising (somehow)?

I’m almost certain it’s something to do with GDM. I found others complaining about something about broadcasting with the modem I have. There’s no fix, so what are my options? My media experience kinda sucks now.

On the server machine verify… Start → Settings → Network & Internet → Properties Make sure it’s set to Private [Screenshot (3873)]

But I’m not on windows. Also it worked before I switched to a new modem. I don’t have any static ip addresses assigned. I also just called my provider and they told me to try opening up ports and setup pinholing for ipv6. Do I need that for a local-only connection?
