As per the topic, when I try to access my Plex locally I get the attached error. This then redirects me to plex.tv and from there I can access it.

@dewitpj

Please stop Plex.

Next,as root, make a tar.gz of /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs and attach it here.

Here we go - I did a request just before shutting down PMS
logs.tar.gz (5.4 MB)

Thanks !

@dewitpj

Are you trying to reach the server using an IPv6 address?

I see the server using IPv4 internally.
I see attempts/requests using IPv6 but see no authentication activity.

Can you retry using IPv4?

Hi,

Yes, IPv4 now works but v6 used to work

Thanks

Plex allows IPv6 on LAN when the server’s configured for it.

Personally, even though I’m fully v4/v6 dual stack here, PMS only works reliably with IPv4.

If you notice, all the plex.tv servers still have IPv4 addresses. There are no IPv6 addresses for them.

Ok, the PMS server is, as in your case, fully dual stacked. Can you confirm this is not a networking issue but perhaps something on the “Plex” side ?

I don’t see why the plex.tv servers need IPv6 for my local access

Plex.tv servers need IPv4.

When you sign in, the server takes the credentials you give and authenticates with Plex.tv before granting access.

I looked at your account. It is a server network configuration issue.

I am sending you info via PM.
