Cannot Access Plex Music Library

Since the new IOS update my Plex is stuck on the Pick Your Favorite Libraries screen.
Nothing happens, i cant proceed, i’ve got a lifetime pass and i can’t access my music library when using the app.
Is there some fix that i’ve missed?

I’ve seen a few reports with users getting stuck initializing the new app. Some have speculated there might be a link to their security apps / plug-ins which were blocking certain communications, causing Plex to get stuck.

As for your music:
They new app no longer includes music and photo libraries. Those have their own dedicated apps.

Well, this is exactly what i needed, i downlaoded the new app and there we go, excellent, many thanks

That’s not good. Plexamp is a very small part of what was available from the normal Plex app. It doesn’t allow changing Playlists, searching across libraries, it treats playlists differently, and on Car Play doesn’t even allow choosing from a list of Playlists. You can simply use the Plexamp app to play from it then later go back to the playlist you’ve played before, not as an actual list of Playlists.
This is quite upsetting…
And yes, this is relevant because I came here looking for a feature no longer available (music) as the original post said…

You can edit them (names, description, poster), create smart playlists (incl. editing their filters on Plexamp) – there’s even more filters exposed through Plexamp than the other Plex apps.
You can also add items to playlists from their context menu (albums, artists, tracks…).

Settings > Experience > Search All Libraries

How so?

Not sure what you mean about Car Play and “play from it then later go back to the playlist you’ve played before, not as an actual list of Playlists”?!

If you read that clearly, all those functions were referred to as using Plaxamp in CarPlay mode, which is primarily when/where I listen to music on my phone. None of those functions are available there. Yes, some are available from the direct app, and I never disputed that, but to address that and your final point, there’s no Playlist heading/option when using CarPlay PlexAmp. So from the beginning, you can’t choose to play ANY playlist in CarPlay. Only if you select the playlist no the phone then connect the phone to your car and trigger PlexAmp CarPlay can you listen to THAT particular playlist. And only go back to it in the Recent menu, not the expected Playlist menu, which doesn’t exist there.

To be clear, I’ve looked again at PlexAmp in CarPlay and the only place you can select a Playlist is under “Recent Playlists” which means you must have used PlexAmp recently not using CarPlay to play the Playlist before you can use the CarPlay Plexamp to listen to it. I know that’s fairly convoluted, but that’s the whole point. That’s the process and how it was designed. I’m not sure why they couldn’t instead of “recent” ones they couldn’t just list the Playlists.

Me too. I also need the plex include the music library, because it can display the manual sort album.
