Cannot access QNAP Plex Since resetting password

I think my challenge is something else … So i’d better skip this (didn’t make any change after PMS stop/start), and not waste people’s time … which have a specific problem. Enjoy your food!

I have actually tried everyting in your script manually earlier today. Didn’t solve anything for me.

@mm98

Make a tar.gz please of the Logs directory .

I’ll browse through it while munching :sunglasses:

Tried to DM you … but your kinda private right now (dont accept messages - all good) :stuck_out_tongue:

Absolutely nothing registered in the logs about claim or anything for the matter of fact. Apparently my PMS is trying to get rid of me…

Hmmm, now the BigHammer.sh script doesn’t detect username or e-mail address (both blank)

@ChuckPa are you fiddeling around?

@mm98

Turn on DEBUG logging and restart PMS.

-OR-

Do it manually.

  1. Stop Plex
  2. Edit Preferences.xml
  3. Update Existing DEBUG options or Add logDebug="1" before the closing </>
  4. SAVE
  5. Start PMS

I’m not doing anything.

I will add the error trapping into the script and update it.

What do you want for 20 minutes to write? :stuck_out_tongue:

I refuse! You have had a chance to warm up the last … like what … 35 hours? :joy:

Send me your resume.

YOUR TURN TO DO THIS **@$%@#$%&Y#@$I%&

:crazy_face:

You “■■■■■■ up” @ChuckPa :sweat_smile: … blank XML attribs, when username and e-mail is not found. PMS says … f**k off …

Startup Crash.log

Aug 25, 2022 19:32:17: Failed to initialize logging: Error parsing file at "/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Library/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml"

I’ll fix it myself …

I’m writing the code now.

You’re LUCKY I know you’re joking around.

It would be SO EASY to nuke your account :smiling_imp:

Hit me … I’m already nuked anyways :grin: but i can wait … not that important for me (that my things gets fixed right now). I’ll gladly help with this …

To be fair … this was actually me … double logDebug XML attribs. I’ll show myself out …

Do you want this enabled, and I then try to run the script again (with stopped PMS) ? …

I would like logDebug="1" (debug logging) enabled for when you start PMS.

Please stand by one minute… I’m finishing up some more work on this bandaid script of mine

Check DM … logs for both cases should be there :wink:

Thanks ChuckPa
Appreciate the help

I get the claimed=“0” when i run the curl http://ipaddress:32400/identity command.
What are the next steps please?

Yes have run that and confirm is Not Claimed (claimed=“0”)

Then continue with the claiming process as listed in the article, and start from the top, and work your way down until you hit one that works/fits your setup

SUCCESS via Claim PMS via a 3rd. Party tool

Thank you for the patience and assistance.
