Cannot access webserver after update

Server Version#:PlexMediaServer-1.28.2.6151-914ddd2b3-x86_64

Hi,
I just tried to upgrade my PMS on my qnap, but upon restart i get this:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

Response code=“503” title=“Maintenance” status=“PMS is currently running startup maintenance tasks.”

So far all attempts to access the webserver /manage interface have failed and I even went that far to remove the qpkg entirely and reinstall ( tried also previously working versions). The problem persists and I’m unsure what I can do to rectify this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Chris

Looks like you need to wait a few minutes for some maintenance tasks to end.

The issue is that it never ended and I thought its stuck. I also saw no HD activity.
After that I shut down the server and restarted it… still the same. This led me to believe there is something wrong with the new version. Then i removed and reinstalled PMS, just to find out that the same xml is still there. I can’t seem to locate that file and clear it manually.

Any thoughts ?

are these maintenance tasks on their end or on my end ( this is a local server instance ) ?

It’s your QNAP that is upgrading the database, and depending on from what version you upgraded from, can take a long time

Please let it work for at least 30 min, and if still not done, then report back

thanks Dane,

this was indeed it and I should have been more patient in the first place. Maybe a more verbose/clear message would have helped me with that.

The version you are on is the first to even have that info

Back in the old days, nobody had a clue what was going on, sadly, and sometimes due to that just killed their PMS => broken database

But when said, this is step one, and we do plan for better info on the server state, so do stay tuned in

You guys are doing great and your efforts are duly noted !
Keep it up and thanks again to you and the team.
