Saving Libraries and Setup on QNAP

Server Version#: 1.28.2

I documented my problem in this thread with logs:

TL;DR is that after upgrading to 1.28.2 plex pass on my TS-877 the server is dead and basically just returns a 503 error. This persists even if I downgrade and install an older version. I have kinda given up on this being salvageable and am considering just deleting Plex and trying to reinstall.

However, I don’t have a backup of my database and obviously cannot access Plex now.

If I just take everything in PlexData folder and save it, uninstall/delete Plex and then reinstall and then put everything back into the PlexData folder will that preserve my setup and libraries?

503 is a new message added in 1.28.2.6106. It means that Plex is migrating the database. While this is happening, the server is unavailable. Give it up to 30 minutes to complete the migration.

Gracias for the reply

Well at this point, perhaps by not waiting I do think its dead

72 hours later and still unaccessible via app/plex.tv and locally still gives 503 error

I did upload the logs from the server trying to start on my QNAP on the other thread

At this point just wondering if I can somehow save my setup and libraries if the video files just stay in the same place

If you cannot access the server locally then it won’t be available via app.plex.tv.

And yeah, 72 hours is excessive.

Before you uninstall everything, run through the procedure to repair a corrupt database.

Run the procedure even if the integrity check step says the db is OK.

The vacuum and reindex commands might clean things up enough to let you access the server. If not, run the low level recovery steps.

If the db is corrupt, Plex may not be able to migrate it when installing a new version. The migration would hang and the server would not be available. That would also explain the 503 message.

How big is that database?

If the DB is corrupt. I have a DB repair tool which works a LOT BETTER than the documented Plex procedure (it’s in development but working very well for all cases tested… it makes backups of everything it does)

I’d be interested in it

Thank you
