Cannot Add Media - Synology NAS post Password reset

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

Following the recent recommendation to update password I lost all ability to access Plex on my NAS. After multiple attempts I decided to start fresh, so uninstalled the package and re-installed. Every time I was able to connect to the server:web port and get the Plex UI, but no ability whatsoever to add local files as media to scan. Today I manually downloaded a later version of Plex to my NAS, still no success. Any ideas what to do?
I’ve taken screenshots of what I’m seeing, not sure how to attach. FYI

Plex Mdia server: 1.29.1.6316-6000
I can connect to it via http
When going to Your Media/ link on Plex web client, I see just “Add Your Media to Plex. Get Plex Media Server” :frowning:

Any ideas appreciated.

Is your LAN RFC-1918 compliant and are you connecting to the server using http://LAN.IP.of.Syno:32400 ?

Plex.tv shows no servers listed under your account.

Hiya,

Yes to both.

As mentioned I do think this may be root caused when I changed password. That being said, I assumed it was all well as I changed password and logged in. The only issue thereafter has been inability to actually add Media. Guess thats a major issue really for a media server.

However as its on a Synology I assumed something was missing in the subsequent steps.

I think I’ve made progress. Since the latest install, I totally uninstalled everything again, reinstalled it, and got the ‘Ready’ page, and finally was able to add a Media folder. The web client now looks like its connecting to a server.

Is there a server now associated again?

Yes, your Diskstation is now visible.

All working now. We can close this thread. Thanks for helping - a full restart using latest Plex build worked for me.
