I genuinely want Plex to succeed and want the team to be rewarded for their efforts on whatever it is they are working on for their customer base but the fact that years have gone by and podcasts should have been a solid piece to the Plex ecosystem already but has bit and pieces broken, means we all can’t have an enjoyable experience. I don’t know if they are trying to work on the downloading engineering that was always dreadful in the regular Plex app or perhaps the previous podcasts iteration wasn’t a great choice internally… I don’t know and I’m exhausted in speculating, but Plex definitely has to crawl out of this eventually and needs to, otherwise podcasts should be sunset as another service they can’t manage anymore.

Just keeping the thread alive … another couple of weeks until it has it’s birthday!
A whole year of moaning with nothing to show for it - not exactly great customer service!
As always with these kind of situations: if the communication was better I wouldn’t mind so much, but this silence is really annoying!

Wow. This actually worked for me. Originally I was trying to add the Self Hosted podcast as mentioned in this thread previously. The podcast gave the error while trying to add, but Plex did think it was in my library and new episodes showed up on the “On Deck”, but not in my podcast lists.
However, when I added it with this URL: https://feeds.fireside.fm/selfhosted/rss.rss as listed above, then it worked and now shows up in my podcasts list.

I cannot get a single podcast url to work. I have tried dozens. This is a major issue. I have tried off and and for almost a year now. How about some attention for this issue?

adding my voice in…
i tried adding from Apple Podcasts, and via OPML, OPML is below along with the issue and the links via the apple podcast page
this one, only shows 453 episodes but they are 627 now
these ones all show “Something went wrong” and do not add
This one loads a completely different podcast, this should be Resonation Radio by ferry corsten but loads Enhanced Music’s weekly radio show
all work in Apple Podcasts and else where

not sure if this is good or not, but 2 of the podcasts not adding actually show up with individual episodes in plexamp… his is on plex desktop where i cant play the episodes
this is plex amp where i can play it.
Cue the rage in 3,2,1… Go‼️

Makes sense, it’s a pretty rubbish service. Difficult to get wrong as well, as podcasts are literally just a url not even hosted by plex

Does the export include listened / unlistened status for each episode? That’s my biggest pain migrating between podcast apps. What podcast alternatives are folks using these days?

All moot now. Please is ending support for Podcasts.
Personally I moved to Pocketcast, good user interface, it was easy adding podcast with URL
Downside is the subscription for desktop app, but $10 a year was not really much to consider, I spend more on beers in a weekend
