Can't Manually Add Podcasts with RSS Feed "Something Went Wrong"

So I tried searching around for a solution, but didn’t really find anything in the way of solutions. It appeared that there were some workarounds for some feeds, but that doesn’t work any more. If anything, I’ve found a lot of posts of here’s my feed URLs, how do I get them to work? So here it goes!

I’ve been transitioning from Stitcher to Plex (I’m leaning more into the all-in-one Plex wants to be) and I have a lot of podcasts I like to listen to. I search and found the ones that were already present. I then went through and manually added the ones I could. The following are the feed URLs that when I added them all I got from Plex was “Something Went Wrong, An Unexpected Error Occured”, with no option to continue.

I tried checking “My Podcasts” to see if it added anyway, it did not. I tried added “.xml” to the end of some of theses, that didn’t work. I’m open to suggestions so I can actually use this as an all in one place.

Here’s my URL list:

Well, seeing how its been a week with no responses, I’m guessing that there’s no solution to this and just an accepted problem with Plex

this is a bummer. i’ve had this issue now for a couple months. thought it would be resolved by now but just tried again today and the issue persists.

Looks like nobody from Plex is looking into this, but wanted to throw my lot in as well.

Trying to add this podcast. Have tried both the desktop app and web app and just get “Something went wrong. An unexpected error has occurred”

On mobile, I get “Media unavailable. The file associated with this item is not accessible by the server. Please verify that the file exists and the necessary drive is accessible”

What is your suggestion for someone looking for a solution to a problem on these forums and is mainly finding closed threads with no posted responses to anything? I had only started this thread to bring the topic up again, in hopes that maybe someone found a solution, and to make sure it’s listed as something that is still occurring. I’ve worked in IT and when people stop telling you that something is wrong, the assumption has been that things worked themselves out. It’s infuriating, because nothing was really solved in those situations.

So, I just wanted to make sure that it was still a known issue and being worked on. A simple response to any of these threads from people working on it, that “it is a known issue and being worked on”, would go a long way to just assure folks that it’s not being ignored, forgotten, or just lost in the other new features that are being worked on and released.

same problem here

I have the same issue as many of you. Don’t know if they have made progress. I get the image of the podcast, but when I press play or download I get an error can’t access or download. This image above is from the iOS app. However via the Plex website I get the something wrong error.

The Race F1 Podcast has the same problem

Same problem here.
There is an even bigger thread about this: Cannot add podcast by url

Having same issue with the following podcast RSS as well.

I have also noticed that I’m getting a 404 after the post to a “https://podcasts.provider.plex.tv/library/metadata…” URL, however I’m not sure if this is related.

I’ve used Plex’s podcast support for a long time and it is really disappointing to see problems like this persist for literal YEARS without any response from the developers. If you can’t identify root causes of problems like this then maybe the code base is beyond fixing and should be replaced.

I get the impression that issues with podcasts aren’t addressed because Plex doesn’t see them as driving revenue.

I feel like you’ve hit the nail on the head. They were super excited to get it out and flash it around as a new feature, but didn’t seem to care enough to maintain it and make sure it was working correctly.

Has there been any update on this? 7 Months is this now old and there hasn’t been any change and I still get the “Something went wrong” message.
