I’ve had Plex Pass for several years, never used it til now (so I’m a nube and gonna ask a nube question - please be patient. . .)
Can get most everything to work as a server with my own content. However, I’ve been looking at movies, etc available on Plex to watch. Unfortunately, almost impossible to stream due to constant “stuttering” during play (guessing it’s an internet issue.) I’ve kinda given up on that except that this article seems to indicate that movies can be recorded (hoping with a much better playback experience.) However, I simply cannot locate any RECORD button on what I assume is the “preplay/details” screen. Am I not looking in the right place/right page? Am I misunderstanding the entire reference to recording movies, etc?
You can record OTA broadcasts if you have a tuner connected to your Plex Media Server (e.g. HD Home Run). You cannot record any of the online media sources or videos from Plex’ video-on-demand service.
First highlighted section at the very top of the support article:
Tip! : You must have your compatible tuner & antenna connected to your Plex Media Server to be able to tune over-the-air broadcasts. The ability to record broadcasts (e.g. DVR) is a premium feature and requires an active Plex Pass subscription.
