My Plex server is on a QNAP NAS and streams via wifi 6 through the house. My projector runs on Android TV and I also have an Apple TV box. Both have Plex player installed and both have the same problem, that movies will play sound fine as long as the soundtrack is stereo. If I select the 5.1 or higher soundtrack (which is what I want), the sound is virtually non-existent (ie brief snatches of sound, but mostly silence). If I play the same movie with 5.1 on my iPad it works fine, but of course the sound is then being reduced to stereo anyway. If I use Infuse instead of Plex I get the full 5.1 sound, but I would much rather have Plex working properly, as it is in all other respects a far superior experience. Are there settings somewhere I need to change or is this insoluble?
