Cannot hide shared libraries

Preferences > Change preferences for system > Plex > Show shared libraries in menu

First question - I believe the above setting is supposed to toggle the visibility of shared libraries in the main/home menu. Regardless of whether I have that setting on or off I always see shared libraries on my home screen, is this normal ?

Second question - I actually want the shared libraries displayed on the menu however I’m sure they all used to be contained within a folder/container on the home screen called “SHARED LIBRARIES”. Instead I see each shared library (movies, tv shows, photos) along side my own libraries, same library name in most cases - so doesn’t look very neat. Any thoughts folks ?

Thx

is it a actual shared library from somebody else or it is another server/plex cloud than your signed into?

if its the 2nd, then it will show in the main homescreen directly, it doesnt matter what ‘Show shared libraries in menu’ is set to if thats the case.

Yeah it is from somebody else that shared it out to me (my Dad actually, he has his own PMS and plex account).

Out of interest though is there a way I can confirm, be sure which servers are associated to my plex account? I do maintain my Dad’s Plex remotely for him so I may have configured his PMS to run under my Plex account for a short time many months ago however I’ve checked his PMS set up and it is using his own plex ID. Anyway I can troubleshoot this myself ?

If you go into the sharing setup under friends you can remove the shares coming back from your dad. You will not be able to use them at all though.
