Cannot install Plex app

Server Version#: 1.25.6.5577
Player Version#: i wish
TV in question: Sony KD-55AF8 running Android 9, Security patch level 5.3.21, Kernel 4.9.125, Build BRAVIA_ATV3_4K_EU-user 9 PTT1.190515.001.S43 671651 release-keys with developer mode enabled to turn on ADB over IP.

I had an issue where when I’m in the Plex app on the homepage, it would show “no connection to the server” even though the Server is in the same LAN. Funnily enough when I went to the individual Libraries (like TV shows, movies) all the content would show up and be playable. I concluded this was an Issue with the App and decided to reinstall the app.

That’s when my current problems began. When I tried to install the app from the TV itself, it gets stuck on “installing”. I gave it multiple days, it still did neither finish nor throw an error. This behaviour continues to be shown even after multiple power cycles. When I try to install the app from the Browser version of the play store on my laptop, I get the error “Error - Something went wrong on our end. Please try again.” pretty much instantly.

all the while, casting plex to the TV works like I expect it to.

Does anybody have an Idea how I could tackle this Issue? Is there maybe an official Download for the apk/aab available so I could try to sideload the app?

EDIT:
I figured it out. This is what I did:
Go to your TV settings, find the apps section, look for the Google play store. In there, clear the cache. Fully restart your TV. Then try installing from the play store again.
