I can not install the media server. After down loading it and installing, when I reboot and try to launch I get a C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MFPlat.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
Is there a 64 bit program of this program? (I only see 32bit on web page)
or must I do something else? I’m running Windows 10.
Thank you for any help
It looks like you are running a Windows “N” version (meaning without Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player).
Either install the Media Player via an additional package Media Feature Pack list for Windows N editions
or switch to a regular Windows edition.
Go check the Apps control panel. See if there is the Media Player disabled under “Windows Features”/“Optional Features”
If so, enable it.
AFAIK, this Windows release is not supported anymore. Enable Windows Update and let it run until there are no more updates to be found.
It could also be possible that the .dll has been replaced by some ancient 3rd-party software which was installed before. As a last ditch attempt, you could run a “repair install” of Windows.
I also restored the system back to the way it was before running AVG Tuneup. I do see when I reboot 2 programs getting blocked (it says its maleware?) Do you think thats what Plex needs to run and it’s a false msg?
