Cannot load M3U8: 404 not found

Hi all,

I was previously running PMS on a Ubuntu server with no issues at all everything streamed with no errors worked great. Two updates ago I lost the ability to play any of my Video files. I have tried on various devices; Xbox One, Android, Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Edge) on both windows and Linux OS’s, etc. Most of these files had previously play through PMS, and all new files I verified that they played before transferring them to the PMS. There are two main file types VOB & MKV files. I have looked for a while on these forums and tried many different thing. I have gone as far as completely removing PMS from my server box then reinstalling, nothing. I have been hoping that the issue will get fixed in an update but that has not happened yet.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Jason

Your description does not point to any specific bug that we are aware of. You;ll need to recreate the issue then provide the PMS log package for us to look at.

This was pulled after reproducing the error from my work PC. I get the same message no matter where I try it though. If there is a specific log I should look at please let me know, there were so many was not sure where to begin. I’m sure it is something on my end, just not sure why it stopped working. If it helps, I have had no issues with playing music files.

Thanks,
Jason

Here are logs from home system after the error.

Anything on this?

Sorry, just got around to looking at your logs. It appears that you got your network into a double NAT situation. This is preventing your client from connecting directly to your server. This is then triggering the Plex Relay feature to kick in. This is where Plex acts as a middle man between your client and the server. Unfortunately, Plex Relay isn’t working properly.

ERROR - [PlexRelay] Could not create directory ‘/var/lib/plexmediaserver/.ssh’
ERROR - [PlexRelay] kex protocol error: type 7 seq 11

I’m not sure what these errors are. I’ll need to check and get back to you. However, the better fix would be to solve your double NAT so Relay won’t even be used.
