I’m unable to properly load ASS subtitles on macOS. The displayed result is shown in the screenshot below.
I’ve tried the web, iPadOS, and iOS clients—all of them load the subtitles correctly. The issue only occurs on macOS. I’ve also attempted reinstalling the app, but the problem persists.
Search for ASCI and UTF-8 in the forums. You’re not the first to experience this problem.

And Yes, it is an external subtitle.
I just checked the subtitle file and found it was encoded in UTF-16.
Then I converted it to UTF-8 with BOM, but the issue still persists.

I tried other external subtitles in ASS format, but Chinese cannot be displayed correctly on macOS, while everything works fine on other devices.
I noticed that Link has already mentioned this issue, and it still cannot load Chinese subtitles on macOS. Will this be fixed later?
