External subtitles can’t load, encoding with UTF-8 and file naming all checked, but the subtitle still not showing up. I even thought it was some ass’ problem, so I tried to switch to srt file, but the problem is not solved. then, I found seems like this problem would happen when the media file already include their own subtitle. when I choose their own subtitle, they works fine, but once I choose external subtitle, there will be nothing to showing up (sometimes it would showing some burn-in subtitle also).
this happened for a while, not just iOS but also happened on android and android tv. I saw topics to talk about same problem on android and android tv here, but looks like iOS/iPadOS users didn’t post any (maybe they r using infuse…). I think this should be fixed now, because it existed for months already. macOS/web all fine, and looks like android users got new beta version app to try, hope iOS/iPadOS users don’t need to wait too long.
