I’ve been racking my brain trying to work around this but no luck so far…
I recently moved my computer (serving as the PMS) from one ISP to another. I upgraded my modem and router as part of this change. Upon trying to setup my PMS and connect Remote Access, I was given a certificate error. I assume this was due to a time/date error based on other forums because the last time the router and computer(w/PMS) were connected to the internet it was Pacific time but new location is Central time. I corrected the error but still couldn’t get logged back in so I logged out. Ever since then, I can get to https://www.plex.tv and show a valid certificate, but attempting to login shows “Authentication error” immediately and greys out the options to login with Google or Facebook.
I have now uninstalled, cleared PMS registry options, verified date/time on modem, router, and computer are correct, re-installed PMS, confirmed port forwarding is setup correctly, confirmed Google DNS is being utilized (vs ISP DNS), and attempted to login under IE and Firefox but keep getting the same “Authentication error”.
I suspect that, for whatever reason, I am unable to get Plex to reissue a valid certificate and allow me to login. Until that happens I can’t claim my server and even think about attempting to enable remote access. Clicking the “Claim this server” button does nothing and any attempt to login when going to “https://HostIP:32400/web” does nothing. I’ve changed the settings within the bundled web interface to disable secure connections, but still no luck logging in. The certificate shown on “https://www.plex.tv” is a valid Plex certificate, but the one at 'https://app.plex.tv" forwards to my router login page and shows the router self-signed certificate.
Any help? I’ve scoured these forums intensively and really wish there was a direct line to a Plex support person, but I guess I’ll have to hope that you guys can figure it out for me. Thanks in advance for taking the time.
