Chromecast w/ Google TV - Yet Another H264 Thread

Server Version#: Recent Stable
Player Version#: Recent Stable

Hey All,

I have a TCL Roku TV connected to an LG Soundbar via Optical cable. I just purchased a new Chromecast w/ Google TV and it appears H264 content isn’t working properly. When I start the movie it shows Direct Play on the server but the video output is basically in slow motion. I’ve tried modifying every setting mentioned in a bunch of different threads but not dice. This issue seems to have a long running history in these forums. It’s worth noting that all content from any streaming service works, I assume this is because it’s being transcoded at the respective services DC. Any thoughts on what we can do to make this work? Thanks!

Anyone?

Bump.

I’m at a loss here. No idea how to fix this issue other then recoding my entire library. All of my content works fine on Roku devices. This issue only surfaces after switching to the new CCWGTV.

Another update. I am able to successfully play the content if I cast from my phone. Oddly enough the stream doesn’t show in my Plex Dash?

This thread helped: Audio passthrough doesn't work at all on the new Google tv chromecast

I switched my RokuTV to Audio Passthrough rather than manually selecting the supported Audio Formats. I then went to the Plex App and selected Optical Passthrough, ticked AC3 and DTS --> Success.

Are you saying you are able to direct play DTS tracks on the new Chromecast? I get immediate failures when I have DTS checked off.
