On AppleTV(version 8.12.1), using actual LiveTV(4 HDHR primes), if the stream dies suddenly and goes back to the guide, you cannot select the same channel again. if you try, it will just sit with the spinning icon. you have to tune to a different channel, then you can go back to the guide and select the previous channel and it will tune correctly. this has been a long-standing issue for many versions. I do not understand why it cannot kill the stream and allow the player to tune the channel again. or choose another tuner to play that channel.
