Cannot Remove default "Recently Added TV" and "Recently Added movies" - Always reappears on home

I am unable to remove the default pinned libraries “Recently Added TV” and “Recently Added movies”

If I uncheck all 3 boxes for each they appear to be gone until a plex scan happens then they reappear on home. This only happens on home and not the libraries recommended tabs.

It also affects anything else using plex web such as the Plex for Windows app. Non plex web clients such as roku and android TV seem to behave normally.

This does not seem to happen if you disable “Merge Recently Added items”

When you have “Merge Recently Added items” enabled did you uncheck the recently added boxes for all the libraries you have?

I did yes. It seems when that that setting is enabled the default Recently Added TV & Movies remain not visible (as it should be) until a refresh happens then it seems to trigger them to appear even when disabled.

Ok, the reason I asked that is because about a week ago I was trying to configure mine using the same settings you’re referring to

My library had “Merge Recently Added items” and when I disabled certain libraries from appearing on the home page recently added, it didn’t honor any of the settings

I would uncheck the boxes, go look on the home screen to see no change. When I would go back to the libraries all those boxes were reverted to the original settings

I thought maybe if I had one library showing, because they were “merged” that it lumped them all together not giving you the choice anymore

So….after your post I tried unchecking some of those boxes again and surprisingly it worked this time.

I’ve changed NOTHING. One day the settings work fine (sort of) and another day they don’t.

I unmerged the recently added on one server completely because I couldn’t get this to work and it was affecting everyone I share my sever with. All I was trying to do was stop my nephews’ kids cartoons from showing on my home screen recently added, while showing on theirs. An entire reconfiguration of one server and 4 hours wasted lol

I can now reproduce your exact error though. It honors the change, but reverts after a scan. This time, after I scan you can go back to the library settings and the box is still unchecked even though it’s now reappeared

This entire process seems confusing, buggy and unreliable
