I have a second TV shows library named Radio Shows (audio shows converted to video). I don’t want this to be included in Recently Added TV Shows under Home, and to use a custom collection (called Recently Added Radio Shows) instead. So under Settings > Manage > Libraries I have this:
I also have “Merge Recently Added items” enabled, as I have multiple Movies libraries which I do want to be merged, but it appears that that setting overrides the above setting so shows from the Radio Shows library still appear under Recently Added TV in Home.
I’m sure this used to work, and they weren’t appearing under Recently Added TV, so this may be a regression (but not sure when it stopped working).
@gadgetchannel After rereading this a few times, I think you gave enough for me to try it.
I see you’re on 1.29.1 which was significantly altered from 1.28.
Which version did that last work? From experience a very good one is: 1.28.2.6151
If you never have or haven’t recently, using the hamburgers to change the layout of items drastically to something ridiculous that stands out can cause a more expected response. Restart PMS and check your players.
I’ve tried that, but it still does the same with “Merge Recently Added items” causing libraries excluded from “Recently Added TV” still being included.
The web player and the Android app appear to have the same issue, but not the iOS app.
The only way I can exclude when from “Recently Added TV” is to set the library to be excluded from the Home screen, but then that also excludes them from “Continue Watching” - I don’t know if there is a combination of filters which will allow me to create a smart collection for the Radio Shows library (e.g. “Continue Listening”).
Hopefully I understand where you are wanting to go. My suggestion is not to use a TV Library but a Other Video Library and if required Manually add your Metadata. You can always reorder/rank the added Library.
