I was penning a fairly lengthy reply to try to counterpoint some of these posts. Then I realized a few things:
- These recent UI changes feel specifically targeted to me and my use case. Likely because…
- … I’m just a typical Plex user not a power user, so…
- … my opinions aren’t particularly relevant in this thread, and…
- … what I was writing started to feel defensive, and Plex doesn’t need me to defend them.
So I’ll just say that I believe them when they say they’re trying to make the user experience more enjoyable for the majority of their users; because of that, I tend to be more understanding and tolerant of their mis-steps. And that it’s unfortunate that a (vocal) minority are feeling negatively impacted by these changes.
Hopefully when the dust settles everyone will feel as catered-to as I do right now.
