Hi John,
welcome to the Plex world…
can you shed some light on what you were looking for?
Plex isn’t providing any movies to you. It’s a media server with support for its own clients across various platforms (desktop, tablet/mobile, tv boxes). You can use this server to organize your own movies and watch them on your devices (or better have Plex organize them). – in case you perceived Plex as an alternative to e.g. Netflix or iTunes…

I find that turning on my TV and media device and Plex server along with starting playback and then, most importantly, opening my eyes generally allows me to view movies with little issue.
Here is further reading about plex (it’s not Netflix)

Yea, but you (and most of the rest of us) have Movies in storage and that gives Plex something to play.
I guess the moral of this story is:
If you don’t have any movies - Plex can’t do much for you.
