Cannot tune to channel - WinTV-HVR-955Q (Xbox One Tuner)

Using multiple versions of Plex I cannot seem to get my Hauppauge tuner to work! It will scan channels, and tune for about 5 seconds then stop and never work again until I remove and add it back. I’ve tried Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Windows 2016 Server (my real machine it runs on).

I can get Plex to pick up the card, scan for channels, and tune only one time before it stops working. I get a cannot tune to channel error and something about recording.

Will attach logs if needed. I’ve tried a few versions of plex too nothing seems to help.

Attached logs. I was able to stream for almost 30 seconds before it failed and never worked again.

To add: I’m using running ESXi server. It doesn’t work on any machine I’m using. Passing the USB device through to each machine.

Processor: Ryzen 1700x
Mobo: ASRock Pro 4

Anyone able to help out here? Pretty much main reason for upgrading was for this feature that doesn’t work.

I am having the same issues with the same tuner. It was working fine at one time but now it just won’t tune to any of the channels. Looking at the server, I see that all the channels are showing strong signal.

This just started happening in the past month so I am assuming it is an issue with Media Server update during that time?

Anyway, I am running driver version 6.0.119.35284

Thanks for reply. Decided to give it a few more updates and see if it was resolved but this time I’m getting Cannot tune to channel (No Parts) error message. Exact same thing happens - add tuner, tunes and then fails.

For what it is worth, I found Emby works much better.

Any luck with this? I am debating whether or not to get a new tuner.

From other places on the forum this is not just an issue with this device but many others that are claimed to work fine. Doesn’t seem to be a priority to be resolved.

So, I was able to improve my stability by cleaning out all tuner driver’s using a driver cleaner. I reinstalled the latest driver from WinDVR 8.5 software and now the tuner works much better.

Short lived, unfortunately. Plex Tuner is just too unstable. I am not using WinTV exclusively.
