I recently bought a new Mac which I setup using a back up on Time Machine. Plex is now frozen ie it does not recognise new media or remove deleted media when scanning the library. How can I fix this?
Time Machine is taking snapshots of the database and server data directory, independent of what the server is doing at that time. If it’s in the middle of writing updates, this can result in database corruption.
If you still have access to the previous machine, check if you can manually copy the Plex data directory.
Otherwise you might want to test and attempt repairing the database.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I don’t have the previous machine. I tried to follow the repair the database instructions but couldn’t get it to work. Is it possible to complete reset Plex and start again from scratch?
