Cannot Update Windows 10- Need Help

Hi,

I am having trouble updating PMS on a Windows 10 box. I am currently on version 1.24.2.4973.

The button next to the version number is 'greyed out" and says checking for updates.

I downloaded the latest version from the plex website (Plex-1.35.1.2632-c6783c78-x86_64) and proceeded to kill all the plex tasks via Task Manager. I then executed the exe update which seemed to go correctly. I rebooted the box and the the version was still 1.24.2.4972 and button still “greyed out”.

Any help greatly appreciated

This may not work for you but did for me with similar issue recently

Logged out of server, rebooted our computer hosting PMS, restarted PMS and logged in and then did update, successfully.

That is Plex for Windows, the Plex client.

Download the Windows version of Plex Media Server. Current version is 1.24.5.5173.

Thank you FordGuy61. I feel like a complete goose for trying to update server with client update. Every thing looks good again
